(Non-RAV Entry Import Approval)

Eligible Vehicle Categories and Core Conditions

Non-RAV approval applies only when both of the following sets of conditions are met:  

(I) Usage Restrictions

• Not used on public roads  

• Or used on public roads only in restricted, special scenarios  

(II) Purpose Categories

The vehicle must fall under one of the following purpose types:  

• Racing or rally vehicles (including support vehicles)  

• Exhibition vehicles (not available on the Australian market)  

• Film and television production vehicles  

• Testing or market evaluation vehicles  

• Substantially modified vehicles (e.g., Hot Rods)  

• Special-purpose vehicles (e.g., industrial or mining equipment)  

• Temporarily imported vehicles (generally for no more than 12 months)  

Application Process 

Register an account (create a user account and complete identity verification in the ROVER system), submit the application, pay the fees, wait through the assessment period — 30 working days later — approval is granted and the certificate is issued.
