The Ministry of Transport (MoT) of Thailand is a government department responsible for the development, construction, and supervision of the country's land, sea, and air transportation systems. The Department of Land Transport (DLT) of Thailand is a subordinate agency of the Ministry of Transport, with the main functions of improving transportation laws, vehicle regulations, and related regulations, enhancing public transportation facilities, and developing the land transportation network.

Thai motor vehicle certification includes emission certification and type certification, which are respectively managed and supervised by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute TISI and the Thai Ministry of Land Transport DLT.
